Russia Past and Present

Major collection of 11,000 colour transparencies and 5,000 black and white and images of Russia past and present plus 3,000 picture postcards of Tsarist Russia and some of Soviet period, many in colour.

Art, artefacts and architecture, everyday life, landscapes, nationalities, people and places, etc., etc., photographed on 26 visits to Russia/USSR since 1961 between Kaliningrad on Baltic Coast and Vladivostok on Pacific.

Historic images from museum or archival material, e.g. colour portraits of Romanov rulers (plus their signatures), Nicholas II and family, anti-pogrom cartoons, topography, nationalities, Russian Revolutions of 1917, Civil War and Intervention, Tsarist and Soviet personalities including Rasputin, Kerensky, Lenin, Dzerzhinsky, Stalin, Gorbachov, etc.
